Video - Session 11: Characteristics of a male-dominated workforce

Description

This educational video allows supervisors & managers to have an interactive discussion with their employees to prevent simple problems turning into big and costly disasters. Everyone learns about the most common forms of workplace human rights issues in a short space of time and at a very reasonable price.

In a world where we’re not supposed to discriminate, why is it important to talk about differences in a male-dominated workplace?  Aren’t we all supposed to be the same?  Equitable treatment yes.  Blinders no. Because men are socialized differently than women, there are ways many men act different in male-dominated workplaces, so the more we understand them, the better we can relate to men at work.  Just because there are a lot of men, that doesn’t mean there aren’t problems, or the courts will allow for different treatment. Discussing this issue with your employees may save you from dealing with a much bigger problem down the road.  This clip is 9 minutes and 5 seconds in length.  Add a few more minutes for discussion and you can have a valuable tool to avoid workplace human rights disasters.
